Candidates If you're like many of your peers, you have come to the conclusion that a career in public accounting is right for you, but you may be having difficulty deciding on which facet of public accounting you would like to specialize- audit, tax, consulting? It is a difficult decision that few are yet ready to make and that is to be expected. One of the unique qualities of John R. Waters & Company is that we offer the opportunity to experience a broad range of projects in all facets of public accounting. As a junior accountant you will work on assigned attest or accounting engagements, in some instances assuming substantial responsibility (under supervision) for engagements involving compiled or reviewed financial statements and tax returns. In addition to preparing these reports, you will also participate in special consulting projects on a variety of accounting, management advisory, and tax planning matters. As you continue to work with clients and become familiar with their operations, you will develop important advisory relationships with owners and managers, aiding them in making complex decisions about current and future business situations. You will find that you make a positive impact in the lives of many business owners. In addition, as you begin to network with other professionals, you will have the opportunity to bring on new clients - helping the firm to grow while benefiting professionally from that growth.
